Hip / Knee / Ankle Pain

It is very common to experience pain in the lower limb, and the usual reasons are due to injury during sport or degenerative changes causing pain as we get older. Our first job is to determine where the pain is coming from. Is it referred pain from the back? Is the knee pain arising from a problem at the hip? The patterns of pain that we experience are complex and often due to multiple reasons. You may have pain arising from the joint itself, from the muscles in the area, from nerves which supply the area, from a soft tissue lesion or from many other, less common sites. A thorough examination helps us to focus in on the problem, determine what it is and then to discuss with you what the best management plan should be.

You may need to get the joint moving properly again, and we can help you by moving the joint in very specific ways (which you would not be able to do on your own), then encouraging you to activate your muscles to create similar movements, and finally working on muscle power so that the joint is properly supported and ‘fit for purpose’.

There are many other scenarios. Let us assess you and show you what we can do!
